Campbell 425-1285 “FOR THE KITCHEN’ EXHIBITION OPENS AT PEMBROKE 4 ART GALLERY. VIRGINIA BEACH – The artistry of chefs and the work of artists are not so far apart and "FOR THE KITCHEN" – the latest exhibition at Pembroke 4 Art Gallery – explores art that may belong in the kitchen environment. Paintings and other art to whet the appetite, spice up kitchen walls or inspire the chef with scenes from far away are all part of a recipe for a visual feast. A gala reception from 7:00-9:00 pm, Friday, October 24th – free and open to the public – will launch the exhibition with the artists in attendance. A painting by William Campbell has been donated to be raffled off, with the proceeds to benefit the gallery and the Food bank of Southeastern Virginia. Attendees are asked to bring canned or a non-perishable food item for the benefit of the Food bank. Guest artists include Cathie Carlson, Barbara Colgate, Shirley Cook, Laura Dabney, Barbara Dowdy, Suzanne Erickson, Kimberly Guthrie, Deborah Miller, Roberta Phipps, and Faye Ward. Managing artists at the Pembroke 4 Art Gallery include Elizabeth Waitekus, Kay Dotson, Sandra Starkey, Nancy Topping Bazin and William Campbell, who will also participate in the exhibition. The Pembroke 4 Gallery is located on the ground floor of the Pembroke 4 Office Building, Suite 120, 291 Independence Boulevard, just west of Pembroke Mall.
